A trailer for Season Four just dropped and it is everything.
netflixMey RudeThis trailer for the upcoming fourth season of Netflix’s hit animated show She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is here — and it’s dramatic as hell.
The teaser, which dropped in conjunction with a panel at New York Comic Con, clocks in at a brief 45 seconds, but it already has us wanting more. It features with scenes of newly-crowned Queen Glimmer, Hordak standing in front of an explosion as fire rains down, and glimpses of some truly epic battles.
Our first glimpse of Season Four also features new looks for old friends (and foes) Glimmer and Catra, as well as a storyline in which Scorpia realizes that her feelings for Catra are one-sided and that their relationship is unhealthy and toxic. We also get the introduction of a new character, Double Trouble, and the promise that “everything will change” when the new season drops on November 5. This level of suspense is not OK!
Each season of She-Ra has gotten better and queerer than the last, and at its Comic Con panel, showrunner Noelle Stevenson described the new addition as a nonbinary, shapeshifting mercenary. Based on that summation alone, Double Trouble is destined to become a fan favorite.
Stevenson also confirmed that Season Four of the GLAAD Award-nominated cartoon will start after a time jump between seasons after Catra almost succeeded in tearing reality apart, Horde Prime discovered the location of Etheria, and Glimmer’s mom, Queen Angella, disappeared. The new season will be 13 episodes long after two shorter seven- and six-episode-long seasons. It’ll be great to get back into the longer-season format, which works much better with the flow of the show.
According to the new season’s synopsis, we’re going to see the rise of Queen Glimmer as the Rebellion Leader, while Horde Prime is preparing to invade Etheria as the Princess Alliance struggles to defend their land. But again, here comes Netflix with the tease — the streamer also promises “a shocking discovery about Etheria itself causes Adora to reconsider everything she thought she knew.”
If you can possibly contain yourself, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power hits Netflix in just under a month. Start marking your calendars now.
