He said yes ... of course he said yes!
DatingMikelle StreetI think that the best place to begin any relationship, any conversation even, is from a place of honesty. We must shirk the feelings of embarrassment, and just level with one another. Think about it: you sit here pretending to be someone or know something that you don’t, and when the truth comes out you just end up looking like the dummy you are. So let’s start from a place of truth, and we can build from there.
The truth is I don’t understand Italian. But, much like Trinity the Tuck in RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars, “I don’t know what she’s saying but girl I am living!”
Over the weekend it seems that Masterchef Italia crowned the winner of its 9th season. And while that’s cause for celebration in and of itself, with the gay chef and art director Antonio Lorenzon from Bassano del Grappa (thank god for Wikipedia) having won, Lorenzon took the opportunity to crown someone else: his boyfriend.
In a clip that has since been posted to television, Lorenzon calls for everyone’s attention right before the credits begin to roll on the season. What he says, we aren’t exactly sure of but there’s a lot of emotions from the crowd, and then we some cues that are practically internationally known: a boyfriend on the brink of tears, friends crowding around and pushing him forward, and then Lorenzon squatting down — maybe they don’t get on one knee in Italy, or maybe there was too much confetti on the floor, we aren’t sure.
It’s a proposal ladies and gentlemen!
And from the photos we’ve seen on Instagram, it’s clear that the boyfriend, Daniel, who has been cheering Lorenzon along onscreen during the season, said yes.
