All I want for Christmas is a holiday special!
Schitt's CreekMikelle StreetWe aren't going to avoid saying this: we want a holiday special. We do! We want a Schitt's Creek holiday special for 2020. We know we aren't going to get one, given that show cocreator Daniel Levy wants to give us some time to miss the series before he brings it back. Given that the final season just went up on Netflix, there hasn't been much time so it's unlikely we'll get a special this year. In its place though, comes this pitch-perfect supercut.
Posted by Levy on Instagram today, a superfan of the show made a supercut of various episodes to Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You." Any fan worth their salt knows that Levy is a mega-fan of Carey — who has, in turn, revealed herself to be a fan of Levy and the show — and he incorporated the singer into the episodes. You may even remember earlier this year when Carey made a surprise appearance during a virtual 2020 commencement event. Now, Calum Shanlin, who worked as a digital producer on Schitt's — you can currently vote for him to win a Sprout Spotlight Award for that work — has spliced various scenes so that the cast finds themselves singing the holiday hit.
"Calum you simply outdid yourself this holiday," Ley wrote. Points were made.
We absolutely are going to be playing this on repeat until Instagram won't allow us anymore. Moira Rose saying bébé in the place of Carey's "baaaabyyyy," is honestly the best way to end this year. When Instagram stops making this clip playable, we will definitely be going back to the actual holiday episode of the series to watch for the rest of this season.
