This year, Nyle DiMarco went behind the camera with his Netflix show Deaf U. That series followed a handful of students at Gallaudet University, the nation's premier institution of higher education for deaf and hard of hearing students. For the project, Dimarco, who is a graduate of Gallaudet, served as executive producer. He must have liked the gig: the America's Next Top Model winner is serving as executive producer on three other projects going into 2021.

Announced this weekend, it was announced that the Dancing With the Stars winner would serve as an executive producer for Look at Me. That project is currently being developed by NBC and is about a multi-generational deaf family, living under one roof. A hearing daughter-in-law and granddaughter move in after a change in their circumstances and a drama ensues. According to Deadline, the project is inspired by DiMarco's life and is written by Tom Donnelly and Josh Oppenheimer. But that's just the latest project.

In mid-July, it was announced that DiMarco had sold a half-hour comedy about being a deaf man in America to Spectrum. The performer, who has also acted in Station 19 and Difficult People, will star as a charismatic, smart deaf man in modern times

Later that month, DiMarco had another Gallaudet-based project in the news. The budding mogul would help turn the nonfiction book Deaf President Now! The 1988 Revolution at Gallaudet University into a feature film. The book chronicles a week of protests at the school after the board of trustees selected a hearing president over equally qualified deaf candidates for president. The selected president later resigned and the university installed its first deaf president.

"Learning about the Deaf President Now movement as a young Deaf boy, I was in awe of how Deaf people like me were able to make such a powerful impact on the world," DiMarco told The Hollywood Reporter at the time. "It was, and still is, such a monumental event in the history of Deaf people and the disability community, helping pave the way towards the Americans with Disabilities Act and more."

The projects join not only Deaf U, but also the 2018 Children of a Lesser God Broadway revival that DiMarco helped to produce.
