Mikelle StreetWell the second season of RuPaul's Drag Race U.K. just aired its finale, crowning the winning queen. And if reports and timelines are to be believed, RuPaul recently wrapped production on season three of U.K. So what is there left to do? come up with another version of course!
So far we've seen RuPaul's Drag Race, RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, and RuPaul's Drag Race UK. We've also had Drag Race Thailand, Drag Race Holland, and Canada's Drag Race with Drag Race Espana and RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under on the way. Next up: RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars, but make it international.
According to The Sun, the new iteration of the long-running series — are we calling it International All Stars or All Stars International — will feature queens from the U.S., Canada, and Holland. There were rumors earlier this year that Ru's production scheduled had her leaving New Zealand where she filed Down Under and then traveling to London for U.K. season three and the international version back to back.
We won't spoil any of the possible cast — The Sun has done that so beware if you don't want spoilers — but it will certainly be interesting to see how this happens. The thing about All Stars is that historically it has shown a different sort of polish from queens. The idea is they come on stabler footing having pulled in coin from doing the Drag RAce circuit, and learned a few tips and tricks along the way. With touring having been mostly sidelined for the past year, is that still going to be possible here?
While we certainly understand that RuPaul, out of everyone, knows how fleeting success and fame can be and as a result may want to drain this well while she can, will it be worth it in the long run?
