After a budget that didn't really increase over the years of making some extremely fun television, it looks like Daniel Levy is cashing in. The writer, director, and actor appeared in an M&Ms commercial that dropped at the Super Bowl and now, a spot for Tostitos is on deck. His co-star: Kate McKinnon.
"These Tostitos Habanero chips are spicy," Levy says in the commercial. The pair appear seemingly behind the scenes on a set of some project — maybe Saturday Night Live. Who knows?
"Actually I think they're really spicy," McKinnon responds. The two then start coming up with different examples for just how spicy the chips are, hoping to outdo one another at every turn.
"For me, the spice is pelvicular," Levy says. Yes, he made up that word! He illustrates with a little pelvic rotation that might make Jackie Cox in the Madonna Rusical jealous. McKinnon responds by giving Levy a bit of "drama" to show how spicy things are.
"For me, it's more of a visual thing," Levy counters pulling out his phone. He pulls up a photo ... "It's like that," he confirms. McKinnon lets out a little shriek, making it clear that she understands.
"That is spicy," she responds.
They keep going, with Levy eventually sinking into a pseudo-split in a bid to outdo his fellow actor's dancing.
"You win," McKinnon says, walking away, leaving her friend in the position. "It's that spicy."
"Ok," Levy lets out. "Kate can you help me up? I have a weak joint."
Looks like those M&Ms might be safe just for a little while.
