Ahead of Disney’s upfront presentation, FX chairman John Landgraf announced approximate premiere dates for several of the networks shows, including our favorites, American Horror Story and American Crime Story, as well as the spinoff American Horror Stories.
Murphy recently announced a spinoff of his flagship series American Horror Story, called American Horror Stories, which will be an anthology take on the format. The weekly series will spotlight a different horror each episode, and will premiere on Hulu in July.
Season ten of American Horror Story, titled Double Feature, will follow the spinoff. It’s also got a ten episode season, and the final episode will air on Halloween. While American Horror Stories is premiering on Hulu, the original Horror Story stays on FX.
AHS Double Featurewill feature two stories, “one by the sea,” and “one by the sand.” We don’t know exactly what each story will feature, but we know that each of the mini-seasons will feature a different cast. The first part, “by the sea,” features regulars like Sarah Paulson, Leslie Grossman, and Kathy Bates, plus newcomer Macauley Culkin. Other cast members include Lily Rabe, Billie Lourd, Finn Whittrock, Adina Porter, Angelica Ross, and Paris Jackson.
This year also sees the long-awaited return of another classic Murphy series, American Crime Story. This year’s story is titled Impeachment, and focuses on the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky scandal. It’s got a packed cast that includes Clive Owen as Clinton, Billy Eichner as Matt Drudge, Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp, and Beanie Feldstein as Lewinsky. Impeachment will debut on FX in September.
We don’t have exact dates yet, but knowing what months these series come out definitely makes the wait for them a lot less difficult.
