Katherine Heigl stars in CBS’s new fall drama, Doubt alongside Orange is the New Black's Laverne Cox.
The film centers on attorney Sadie Ellis [Heigl] as she falls in love with her client, Billy—played by Rescue Me star Steven Pasquale—while defending him during a murder trial. It’s unclear from the trailer whether he is guilty, but the forbidden love plot is enough to hook us.
Cox will make history as the first transgender actress to act in a transgender role in a broadcast series. She will be playing the role of Cameron Wirth, another attorney who is described by CBS as "fierce and funny" and "as competitive as she is compassionate."
The show will also star Dreama Walker, known for her role as June in Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23. Walker will play a smart, second-year associate who works under Cox.
