While celebrating making the cover of DNA Magazine, Australian actor Hugh Sheridan has come out as nonbinary.

"I AM still a human (non-binary/bi/me/Hughman)," they wrote on Instagram about their new cover of DNA. "But I’m in a monogamous relationship with another human, who I love. I don’t accept a label ’cause it limits me...if you want it; take it. I chose zero labels for no other reason except the exclusion, limitations, separation, I believe are all one, deeeeep down."

They continued, with encouragement for others who want to explore their identity. "Why choose?!!" they asked. "Be you. Be true. Be free: to BE, to JUST BE...you, a human, same as me."

The cover features Sheridan arm-in-giant-arm with their fiance Kurt Roberts, about to lock lips. The actor also shared another shot from the magazine, where they are showing off their body wearing nothing and conveniently holding a towel in their hands.

Sheridan had previously come out last year when they told Stellar Magazine that they have been with both men and women, but "I believe labels are for clothes, not for people."

"In many ways, I wish I didn’t have to write this, but I feel a responsibility to others who may come after me," Sheridan wrote about coming out. "By sharing my story now, and becoming more transparent, maybe I can help to give others who are private a break. We might live and let them live as they wish."

They also revealed that early in their career, they were encouraged to hide their sexuality. "I was told that if I was anything but straight I’d never find work," Sheridan wrote. "And that I needed to hide my newfound love."

Now, Sheridan is showing off and celebrating that love on the cover of a magazine, and we couldn’t be happier for them.

Sheridan, who won three Logie Awards (Australia's TV awards) for starring as Ben Rafter in the show Packed to The Rafters, is getting ready to reprise the role in Amazon Prime TV’s reboot, Back to The Rafters.
