The reboot is officially filming in New Orleans!

Actor and Pose alum Johnny Sibilly has given us the first look at the cast of the all-new Queer As Folk together in one place, and this is a cast we can’t wait to see on screen!
The picture, posted to Sibilly’s Instagram, shows Sibilly along with Jesse James Keitel, Fin Argus, Ryan O’Connell, Devin Way, and Candace Grace on location in New Orleans, where the reboot is set. The new version of Queer As Folk follows a diverse friend group whose lives are transformed in the aftermath of a tragedy.
Keitel stars on ABC’s popular drama Big Sky, where she was the first nonbinary actor to play a nonbinary series regular on primetime television. She was also the first cast member announced for the reboot.
Sibilly, one of our social media faves, has starred in Pose and Hacks, and now is set to play “a successful lawyer who is not as put together as he seems” on the new show. Special creator O’Connell, a recent Out Magazine cover star, is also executive producing the show and will play “a pop culture nerd with cerebral palsy who is more than ready for some independence.”
Grace is a New Orleans native, who has appeared in the ABC drama pilot Acts of Crime. They’ll be playing a nonbinary professor “navigating the rocky transition from punk to parenthood.” Argus is playing “a cocky high schooler whose confidence belies his lack of real world experience.” Way’s character is described as "a charming and sometimes chaotic commitment-phobe who finds a reason to stay in New Orleans after tragedy rocks his community."
This reboot was given a straight-to-series order from Peacock and is being written, created, and executive produced by Stephen Dunn, who directed the feature Closet Monster and won a GLAAD Media Special Recognition Award for an episode of Apple TV+’s anthology Little America.
This new version of Queer As Folk doesn’t have a release date yet, but hopefully we can expect it sooner, rather than later!
