In a world that is still very much full of hate, Lynda Carter is sticking up for trans rights!

In a recent tweet, the beloved actress (who is best known for portraying Amazon princess and superhero icon Diana Prince in the live-action TV adaptation of Wonder Woman in the '70s) took time to defend trans folks and their right to have their identities and lives affirmed and respected.

"You don't have to be trans to understand the importance of respecting trans people and affirming their identities," the Wonder Woman star wrote. "Life is just too short. I can't imagine how it makes any sense to use one's fame and resources to put others down."

Without even explicitly mentioning her, Carter perfectly took down noted TERF and once-beloved Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, whose name keeps popping up every few months in the news cycle because of her incessant transphobic tweets

"War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. The penised individual who raped you is a woman," Rowling tweeted on Sunday, sharing a news article that criticizes the Scottish police force for honoring a prisoner’s gender identity, portraying trans identities as a means for avoiding punishment as well as preying on the vulnerable.

Luckily for us, though, Carter isn't the only celeb sticking up for what's right and clapping back against Rowling's hate!

Grooming expert and nonbinary Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness also had a few choice words for the infamous author!

"The biggest threats of violence against women has always been cisgender men, not trans women, unless J.K.'s constant transphobic, cherry-picked vitriol convinces you otherwise," JVN wrote. "But as trans women are assaulted, deprived of work, killed, and raped J.K. is safe in her mansion."

While we wish folks like Rowling wouldn't use their platform to constantly spew hate, we're glad we have celeb allies and community members like Carter and JVN to always stick up for us!
