The 14th season of VH1's beloved, Emmy-winning reality competition series RuPaul's Drag Race just kicked off, and besides making herstory for featuring the first cis, straight male contestant in the entire franchise, this season also feature not one, but two trans women who are joining the competition for the crown and $100,000!

Kerri Colby and Kornbread "The Snack" Jeté were just introduced to the worldwide Drag Race fandom during the first half of the season 14 premiere last week, but they have already quickly become two of the competition's fan favorites! But did you know their love for each other had a long history before they even walked into the werk room for the first time?

In fact, the two were good friends before Drag Race, and speaking to Out, Kornbread even revealed that Colby was one of the first people she ever came out to!

"I've known Kerri before this, we've been friends before this," Kornbread said about her excitement of reuniting with Colby on the Drag Race set. "Fun fact, Kerri was one of the first people that I came out to as trans. She actually helped me through my journey. The peak of me starting everything was actually going to Drag Race and she knew some stuff, but no one else knew anything about it. So it's good to have that kind of comfort person there as well as somebody that knows exactly what you're going through and who's gonna calm you down when your mood swings are about to pop up, because they happen."

"She's one of my favorite human beings on the planet and extremely sweet, extremely funny, and extremely humble," she continued. "No matter how gorgeous the bitch looks, I promise you he's a very humble and sweet person and very caring, so I'm here for her."

And the love goes both ways!

"It was a dream come true," Colby told Out about getting to work with Kornbread on Drag Race. "Honestly, when I walked into the set and I saw her, I was like, 'I'm gonna be safe. I'm gonna be okay mentally,' because I was a little stressed, I was a little bugged. Me and Kornbread have been Judies for a while, back before Drag Race or auditions or anything like that, so it just really made me feel comfortable."

She continued:

'The fact that we get to showcase not just one but two fully authentic women of trans conviction going into the show and on top of that people of color, I think that it is our time. We've had so many people highlight our community, talk about our community, give their thoughts on our community, but it's time for the girls of the work to show and talk about their own things. And we got something to say."

Season 14 of RuPaul's Drag Race is currently airing new episodes on Friday nights at 8pm ET/PT on VH1!
