After 40 games, Amy Schneider’s epic Jeopardy! winning streak has come to an end.

Just two days after she moved into second place on Jeopardy’s list of longest winning streaks, Schneider’s time in the spotlight is officially over. On Wednesday, she lost to Rhone Talsma, a queer librarian from Chicago.

Schneider failed to answer the Final Jeopardy! clue, which Talsma answered correctly.

“The only nation in the world whose name in English ends in H, it’s also one of the 10 most populous.” The correct answer: “What is Bangladesh?”

Over her 40 game win streak, the second-longest in Jeopardy! history, Schneider won $1,382,800. Only Ken Jennings won more games when he had his legendary 74 game run. Schneider’s overall prize winnings put her at fourth all-time on the Jeopardy!'s prize-winning list.

“I thought that Rhone was going to be tough going into it,” Schneider said in a statement. “I loved hanging out with him, we had a great conversation before the taping, but I could tell that he was here to play and that he was going to be good. I still came very close to winning, but I did feel like maybe I was slipping a little bit. And once it was clear that he was fast on the buzzer, I knew it was going to be a battle all the way.”

“It’s really been an honor,” she continued. “To know that I’m one of the most successful people at a game I’ve loved since I was a kid and to know that I’m a part of its history now, I just don’t know how to process it.”

Schneider, who is a trans woman and a lesbian, is also the winningest woman in Jeopardy! history. And don’t worry, she’ll be back this fall for the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions, which pits the seasons’ top 15 winners against each other. She’s the first trans person to qualify for the tournament.
