It'll probably be a while until we see the Roses on our screens...

Unfortunately, it looks like we probably won't be seeing the Roses return to our television sets any time soon...

The Super Bowl took place over the past weekend, and one of the commercials that aired during the big game was a new Nissan ad starring Schitt's Creek co-creator Eugene Levy alongside an A-List roster of other celebs, including Oscar winner and frequent Nissan spokeswoman Brie Larson, Danai Gurira, Dave Bautista, and last but definitely not least, Moira Rose herself, Catherine O'Hara.

While seeing the two (who played husband and wife duo Johnny and Moira Rose) together again was a sight for sore eyes, especially for those who have been missing the critically-acclaimed, LGBTQ-inclusive, award-winning, feel-good comedy series since it came to a close in April of 2020, their Schitt's Creek mini-reunion was, unfortunately, not a sign of something grander to come in the near future...

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporterspeaking about his involvement with the new Nissan Super Bowl ad, Eugene Levy opened up about the perpetual chatter about some kind of Schitt's Creek film or special reunion happening, and though the possibility and demand is always there, it's just on his radar right now.

"There’s always been talk that there will be a get-together at some point with the cast, whether it’s a movie or a sort of special or something. That is always gonna be kept alive," Levy said. "But there’s nothing definitive in the foreseeable future, in the near future, let’s put it that way."

While it's sad to hear, it's not like we're been deprived of content from the comedic masterminds behind Schitt's Creek! Dan Levy stays absolutely booked and busy these days with a bunch of upcoming TV projects, including hosting a brunch-themed cooking show for HBO Max and signing an overall deal with Netflix. And the four members of the Rose family, Dan, Eugene, O'Hara, and Annie Murphy, all reunited in-person at last year's 73rd annual Emmys, where they delivered what was arguably the best bit of the night while presenting the awards for Outstanding Comedy Writing and Outstanding Comedy Directing.

While we know it won't be for a while, but we're still gonna hold out hope that we'll be able to revisit Schitt's Creek again one day.

Schitt's Creek is streaming on Netflix.
