Baga Chipz is opening up about surviving a physically and mentally abusive relationship.

In a series of tweets posted earlier today, the 32-year-old drag performer — who is best known for starring in the first season of RuPaul's Drag Race UK and is currently competing in the first season of the international Drag Race UK vs. the World — detailed how a former partner of hers is still trying to remain in her life even though they have been separated for almost a year.

"Was abused for 18 months mentally and physically and the bastard still won’t let me be free," Chipz wrote. "This person abused my family and [Drag Race] sisters. I was your meal ticket and you fucked up by being an [abuser]. It’s been nearly a year! LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Chipz then followed up her initial revelation with more tweets sharing how emotionally draining the whole ordeal has been for her and reminding her followers that abuse can, and often does, happen to anyone.

"We really do live in a cruel world," she wrote. "To make me live those 18 months all over again is horrendous. I'm literally in the bathroom being sick. I could take the beatings but the mental torture and abuse of my family will scar me forever. Worthlessness is horrid."

She added: "I was so embarrassed and so ashamed. To let someone do that to me and treat me that way. Believe me. It can happen to anyone! I’m just broken."

"You can leave a person and they can still have control over you," Chipz said in her most recent tweet, saying that being able to speak her truth has been freeing for her. "From having your runways leaked to making up lies because you are on the telly. I feel like a massive weight [has] been lifted being able to tell the world I was a victim of abuse. I never thought I would be a victim."

Although hearing what Chipz is going through is absolutely heartbreaking, her friends and fans were really quick to show their unconditional love and support.

"So sorry this is still happening to you baby," her Drag Race UK and UK vs. the World costar Blu Hydrangea said in a reply. "You deserve better."

"It breaks my heart to know you're still having to deal with this," one supporter wrote. "I know how hard it is to try and get on with your life and have this still affecting you, they are fucking disgusting! I'm so so sorry, I love you so much, always here for you."

"Domestic violence in the LGBTQ+ community is grossly overlooked and ignored. Thank you for being brave and speaking up. More of us need to do the same," wrote another.

If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse from a partner, you can call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) for help and resources.
