GLAAD Media Awards 2022: 'Hacks,''It's a Sin,''Eternals' Among Wins

Here are the past year's honored LGBTQ-uplifting productions.

The rainbow envelope, please!

The 33rd annual GLAAD Media Awards returned in person to the Beverly Hilton on Saturday night — and the winners were a bunch of Hacks!

Literally, the acclaimed HBO Max production starring Jean Smart with an LGBTQ+ ensemble including Hannah Einbinder, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Johnny Sibilly, Poppy Liu, Mark Indelicato, and Megan Stalter took home the prize for Outstanding New TV Series.

Other big Hollywood winners of the evening include Peacock's Saved by the Bell, Eternals, Single All the Way, Parallel Mothers, Hulu's Changing the Game, HBO Max's It's a Sin, and a tie for VH1's RuPaul's Drag Race and HBO's We're HereThe AdvocateOut's sister publication, also triumphed in the Outstanding Overall Magazine Coverage category. 

The star-studded evening also featured Kacey Musgraves, who received the Vanguard Award, and Michaela Jae Rodriguez, who was honored with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award from Andrew Garfield. We're Here's Bob the Drag Queen, Eureka O’ Hara, and Shangela hosted the event, which received a performance from Jake Wesley Rogers.

The GLAAD Media Awards honors media that uplifts the LGBTQ+ community. It will stream on Hulu on April 16. Other remaining categories are set to be announced at the New York GLAAD ceremony on May 5.
