It all went down at the GLAAD Media Awards this past weekend.

Former Survivor contestant Zeke Smith and Superstore star Nico Santos were on stage at the GLAAD Awards this past weekend when something truly magical happened. We love to see love like this!
As the two stood on stage, Santos told a cute story about how the two of them actually met at the GLAAD's annual awards ceremony back in 2018, joking, “So who knows, tonight could be your lucky night! You could go home with a GLAAD Award and chlamydia!”
Smith spoke next, talking about his history with GLAAD, which helped him after he was outed while appearing on Survivor. He talked about the growth in representation since then, and how this year’s awards had more nominees than ever. But Santos thinks it’s still not enough.
“We need more dramas, more comedies, and more love stories,” Santos shouted. That’s when Smith stepped up to the mic.
“Speaking of love stories,” he said as his voice began to waver. “Ours began here, four years ago, in our favorite restaurant, the Beverly Hills Ballroom – best roast chicken spot in Los Angeles – and Nico got me, at the afterparty, he got me a Ketel One cocktail, he lured me into his limousine, and he swept me off of my feet.”
“Nico, your love has taught me how to love, you are my other half,” Smith continued, as Santos slowly started to realize what was happening. “And I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Smith dropped down on one knee as Santos started crying and the entire audience rose to their feet in a standing ovation.
You don’t get moments like this at the Grammys!!! The happy couple kissed a few times on stage, to even more riotous applause. Love wins, once again. Watch the video below.
The two celebrated on their Instagrams, with Smith, who was the first out trans contestant on Survivor, saying, “He said yes. I’m the luckiest guy in the world.”
Santos, who stars on Superstore, added his own reaction, saying “I said yes. You have my heart forever.”
Stars such as Stephanie Beatriz, Steven Canals, Johnny Sibilly, Chef Melissa King, Jen Richards, and George Salazar commented on their posts, sharing in the love and celebration.
