The trailer for the final twelve episodes of Grace and Frankie’s 7th and final season has debuted, getting us all excited to see how the show ends.
Grace and Frankie, which stars Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda as the two titular friends, debuted on Netflix in 2015, and since then has become one of the streamer’s most popular titles. With 94 episodes, it’s also Netflix’s longest-running original series.
The show follows two friends who have to figure out how to move forward when their husbands (Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston) tell them they want a divorce because they’re gay and in love with each other.
Grace and Frankie also stars Baron Vaughn, Ethan Embry, Brooklyn Decker, June Diane Raphael, Peter Gallagher, Peter Cambor, Lindsey Kraft, Marsha Mason, Tim Bagley, and Christine Woods.
“It was a crazy ride,” Grace tells Frankie in the trailer, “but I’d rather take a crazy ride with you than a normal ride with anybody else.”
The trailer contains plenty of the show’s humor, and also has its characters looking back on their lives and adventures together. The two best friends have been through a lot together over the years, and they’re closer than ever because of it. It’s sure to be one emotional final season.
“We are both delighted and heartbroken that Grace and Frankie will be back for its seventh, though final, season,” Tomlin and Fonda said in a statement to Us Magazine. “We’re so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation. And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well! We’ll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we’ll still be around. We’ve outlasted so many things — just hope we don’t outlast the planet.”
One thing fans can look forward to in the final season is seeing the two 9 to 5 co-stars reunite with the other leading lady from that film, Dolly Parton. Parton is confirmed to appear in the final episode of the show.
Grace and Frankie’s final twelve episodes will be available to stream April 29 on Netflix.
