13 Reasons Why star Tommy Dorfman has made her Met Gala red carpet debut!

We got our first look at Dorfman as she headed to the Gala from her hotel, with her dark emerald train flowing behind her.

Dorfman looked stunning, even if she didn’t quite follow the theme. It might not have fit the "gilded glamour" motif, but she was definitely serving Matrix Glamor in her dark, dark green rubber Christopher Kane gown and shoulder-length black gloves.

Dorfman also made a strong statement with her bag, which was emblazened with the words "Protect Trans Kids," a vital and urgent message at this time.

This is a great Met Gala debut for the star, and we can’t wait to see her as she continues to grow and find her voice in fashion.

Dorfman recently graced the Vogue website where she starred in a piece all about practicing Met Gala poses. There she said she was beyond excited to attend the event.

“I’m deeply obsessed with the Gilded Age, so for this to be my first Met feels like a beautiful alignment. I love anything cinched, corseted, and to the floor,” she said in the article. She also teased her look, saying that it was from a designer she loved.

“Without revealing too much, I’ve never worn anything with a train before this Met, so I’m really excited about that. To be included in a night honoring such talented designers and artists is just thrilling for me,” she added.

Dorfman came out last summer after years of privately identifying and living as a woman. “I view today as a reintroduction to me as a woman, having made a transition medically,” she said. “Coming out is always viewed as this grand reveal, but I was never not out. Today is about clarity: I am a trans woman. My pronouns are she/her. My name is Tommy."

Congratulations Tommy on your first Met Gala red carpet!
