It’s only week one, but Michael Bruner is reigning supreme on BB24 so far!

On Wednesday night, Bruner was introduced as a 28-year-old attorney from Rochester, Minnesota who is now competing for the grand prize of $750,000 on Big Brother 24. Bruner called himself a “superfan” of the show and also introduced the world to his fiancé, Hayden.

From the jump, BB24 fans are loving Bruner’s strategic mindset even down to the smallest details. For instance, when Julie Chen-Moonves announced that his group of four could make their way inside the house, Bruner made sure that he wasn’t the first person to walk in.

For context, there’s a longstanding Big Brother curse that the first person to walk in through those doors at the grand premiere usually doesn’t do very well in the game. To ensure that didn’t happen to him, Bruner opened the door for his fellow contestants and then looked straight to the camera to acknowledge the fans watching his move.

Many fans also loved what Bruner had to say in his pre-season interviews. Unlike certain players in past seasons, he plans on taking someone to the end that he can beat at the finale – not someone that he simply feels loyal to.

After seeing loyalty backfire so many times on Big Brother, this is the kind of decision-making process that viewers want to see from a new player coming into this show.

Strategy aside, there are also a lot of viewers who feel like they can relate to Bruner on a personal level. In one tweet, a Big Brother fan shared a video of Bruner and noted:

“This is exactly how I act around straight men too.”

There are also numerous former Big Brother houseguests who have shown their support for Bruner.

Notably, BB15 winner Andy Herren and BB19 winner Josh Martinez have both tweeted about rooting for Bruner. The “Queen of Big Brother” Janelle Pierzina has also picked him as her favorite player in season 24 thus far.

Last but certainly not least, Bruner is currently in the no. 1 spot in the popular Big Brother fan-site ranking from Joker’s Updates. All things considered, Bruner is already establishing himself as America’s Favorite Player – and a potential winner – as far as first impressions go.

Big Brother 24 airs Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays on CBS.
