The ultimate Queen of All Queens has now been crowned!
Editor's note: this post contains MAJOR spoilers for the grand finale of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 7.
Jinkx Monsoon, Monét X Change, Shea Couleé, and Trinity The Tuck qualified to the grand finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 7 and lip synced to win the crown and title of Queen of All Queens.
The top four of All Stars 7 was determined by on how many Legendary Legend Stars each queen won throughout the competition. Going into this finale, X Change had five stars, Monsoon had four stars, Couleé had four stars, and Tuck had three stars. Technically, Tuck was tied with Jaida Essence Hall for three stars, but X Change served as the tie-breaker in episode 11 and decided to bring her All Stars 4“twinner” to the top four.
Aside from Legendary Legend Stars, each of these finalists established very different track records on All Stars 7. Monsoon won four maxi challenges and won three lip syncs, Tuck won four challenges and won one lip sync, X Change won three challenges and won one lip sync, whereas Couleé won two challenges and won two lip syncs. Arguably, Monsoon came into this finale with the strongest track record, while Couleé had the weakest scorecard in comparison. Nonetheless, Couleé still posed a big threat given that she won every lip sync that she competed on throughout the season.
For the first time in Drag Race herstory, the winner of All Stars 7 would be crowned the Queen of All Queens and would cash in a record-breaking grand prize of $200,000. But first, the four finalists had to go head-to-head in a lip sync smackdown that mimicked the format of regular seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
First up was Monsoon vs. Couleé in a lip sync to “Judas” by Lady Gaga. RuPaul determined that Monsoon won that lip sync. Up next were X Change vs. Tuck in a lip sync to “So What” by P!nk. X Change was deemed the winner of that lip sync. As a result, Monsoon and X Change faced off in the final lip sync of the season, which was to the tune of “Swish Swish” by Katy Perry featuring Nicki Minaj.
Only one queen was crowned the Queen of All Queens in the end…
Jinkx Monsoon has won RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 7 and has now officially been crowned the Queen of All Queens, taking home the grand prize of $200,000. Generally, Monsoon was a favorite among both the judges and the fans all season long.
In the days leading up to the finale, the social media support for Monsoon to win All Stars 7 far outpaced all of her competitors. Not only did Monsoon deserve to win this crown, but she also had the public firmly on her side.
In the meantime, the four queens who didn’t qualify for the Queen of All Queens lip sync had the chance to compete in a separate lip sync smackdown to become the Queen of She Done Already Done Had Herses. Yvie Oddly and The Vivienne lip synced against one another, and Oddly came out victorious. Raja and Jaida Essence Hall then went head-to-head, and Raja won that lip sync.
A final lip sync to “Sisters Are Doin’ It for Thesmelves” by Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin then took place between Raja and Oddly, and Raja was ultimately crowned the Queen of She Done Already Done Had Herses. With the title, Raja was awarded a cash prize of $50,000.
This has been one of the best seasons of Drag Race in herstory, and many fans are already calling All Stars 7 the best season of all time. May the Queens of All Queens – and the Queen of She Done Already Done Had Herses – reign supreme for all eternity!
