Another one in the basket.

Monét X Change and Bob The Drag Queen live-streamed their reactions to the RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 7 finale immediately after the episode became available – but it was only made available only to the Patreon subscribers of their Sibling Rivalry podcast.

During their conversation, Monét told Bob how she really felt about the episode, particularly after watching the lip sync for the crown between her and All Stars 7 winner Jinkx Monsoon.

The All Stars 4 winner said:

“[About that] lip sync, I can’t even… B*tch, I ate. I f*cking ate that lip sync up. Sorry about it. I dog-walked that h*e. (…) They cut out one of my favorite parts of the number. As soon as the number started, I pulled out Shea’s lipstick, Trinity’s, and I pulled out Jinkx’s, and I showed it. That’s why I started doing my lipstick with her thing, and then I threw it off the stage. So that was one of my favorite moments of the lip sync, and that was cut out completely. And again, things get cut out, we know that. But b*tch, I was really proud of that.”

Monét later revealed in the live-stream that she had the All Stars 7 results spoiled to her right after episode 10, which featured the roast maxi challenge. Alas, she was curious to know how the edit would play out given what she experienced after filming the lip sync.

The All Stars 7 runner-up explained:

“All of the cast and crew comes in to watch the lip sync at the end of the show. So we finished doing the lip sync, and people were cheering and screaming. After we get done, cameras are wrapped, we’re walking back to the werkroom to go change, the audio people and camera people are coming up to me and are like, ‘Monét, I know we can’t say this… but congratulations, man. You f*cking murdered that sh*t.’”

In addition, Monét also spilled some tea as to why Nicki Minaj’s rap verse was cut out from this All Stars 7 lip sync to Katy Perry’s “Swish Swish.”

“Full tea, talking like a producer, if Jinkx is going to win… I’m sorry, Jinkx is not a rapper,” Monét noted. “Fully, doing the rap, Jinkx stopped to watch me to the rap. I was doing the rap part, (…) she just turned upstage and watched me for like a full… I wanna say, like, a solid five seconds of just watching me do the lip sync.”

Clearly, Monét had quite a very different experience filming the lip sync for the crown on All Stars 7 than the final edit that was shown to fans. She made it very clear that none of what was said is meant to be any shade toward Jinkx, who doesn’t have control over the edit and did a great job all season long.

All things considered, though, it’s understandable why Monét is feeling a way about some of her favorite moments being cut out from such a herstory-making lip sync performance.
