You’ve got our attention, Showtime!

Twitter was on fire this weekend, as some pics of TV hunks Jonathan Bailey and Matt Bomer taking off their shirts and getting wet and wild in short shorts in Lake Ontario while filming scenes for their upcoming gay romance series for Showtime, Fellow Travelers.

In a series of photos, we see Bomer and Bailey, both taking their shirts off and roughhousing in the shallow water as waves splash around them. Bomer is in little green shorts, and Bailey is in blue.

In one photo we even see the two passionately kissing in the water. Each of them also take turns carrying each other, with Bomer hoisting Bailey over his shoulder and carrying him easily.

If you couldn’t already guess it from the pics, the show will be very gay. Fellow Travelers, based on a novel of the same name, follows two very different men who meet under the shadow of McCarthy-era Washington, DC and fall in love.

Bailey (Bridgerton) will be playing Tim Laughlin in the series described as a “love story and political thriller.” Laughlin is a young Fordham University grad who is described as being “earnest about his political and religious convictions and filled with optimism about the post-WWII future.”

Bomer (Magic Mike XXL) plays Hawkins Fuller, a political insider who works behind-the-scenes and lives comfortably while avoiding emotional entanglements. Then, his life changes when he meets Tim, a “young man brimming with idealism and religious faith.”

Fellow Travelers will follow the two men as they begin a romance in a time when Joseph McCarthy had declared that he would root out all “subversives and sexual deviants” from U.S. politics. It will follow them over four decades, “through the Vietnam War protests of the 1960s, the drug-fueled disco hedonism of the 1970s, and the AIDS crisis of the 1980s.”

Oscar nominee Ron Nyswaner (Philadelphia) is writing the eight-episode limited series, and gay director Daniel Minihan (Deadwood) is executive producing and will direct the first two episodes.
