Congratulations to Mike White, who took home three trophies at tonight’s Emmy ceremony!

The bisexual writer, director, and creator of TheWhiteLotus won Emmys for Outstanding Writing and Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series or Movie, and won for Outstanding Limited Series.

White brought up his time competing on the reality show Survivor during his speech for writing, begging the voters not to “vote him off the island.”

White has worked as a writer, director, creator, actor, and even reality TV star in his long career. He’s also known for creating the HBO show Enlightened in 2011, and writing movies like Chuck& Buck, School of Rock, and Pitch Perfect 3.

White won back-to-back awards earlier in the night when he picked up the trophies for Outstanding and Outstanding Writing for the show.

These are his first three Emmys.

In 2020, Dan Levy also took home the Emmys for writing, directing, and producing for the final season of Schitt’s Creek. That same night he also won for acting, becoming the first person to win the Emmy in all four major disciplines in a single year.

The White Lotus also picked up awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor (Murray Bartlett), and Outstanding Supporting Actress (Jennifer Coolidge). The show also won five Creative Arts Emmys.
