Get ready for more AHS this October!
Mey RudeAmerican Horror Story is coming to the Big Apple.
According to the Twitter account The AHS Zone (@ahszone), the title for the new season is American Horror Story: New York City, and the premiere date is October 19.
Back in February, FX Chairman John Landgraf said that this year would focus on one story, not like last year’s Double Feature.
“What I can tell you is that the concept for Season 11 is one story,” Landgraf said. “It actually takes place in different timelines but it’s one subject, one story, with a beginning, middle and an end, like many of the prior stories.”
We don’t know much else, but we have seen some pictures of production setting up filming in New York’s East Village, where a storefront was made to resemble an ’80s adult video store called Video Peeps. The photos also show cars from the ’80s.
Digital Spy also got set pics that showed actors Charlie Carver and Isaac Powell dressed in vintage clothes kissing on the streets of New York City. At the time, rumors were that the season would take place in NYC in the ’70s and deal with the infamous disco club Studio 54.
As for AHS 11’s cast, there will be some returning faces like Billie Lourd, Patti LuPone, Sandra Bernhard, and Zachary Quinto, as well as first-timers like Carver and Powell, and The Boys in the Band director Joe Mantello.
The full cast has yet to be announced.
A New York City-set season exploring the dark side of the town in the ’70s and ’80s could be one of the best. We know Murphy loves the era and the city, and has explored it before in projects like The Normal Heart, The Boys in the Band, Pose, and Halston, so setting AHS there would be a natural fit.
