Two of Netflix’s most popular gay shows might be coming together.

Young Royals and Heartstopper are two Netflix series that premiered within the last two years and immediately had fans and critics praising their gay representation.

Both shows follow a young gay couple. Young Royals, created and written by Lisa Ambjörn, follows the fictional Prince Wilhelm of Sweden as he falls for his classmate Simon. Heartstopper, which is based on the webcomic of the same name, follows two British teen boys, Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) who fall in love. Now, one show’s cast has revealed that they’d love to do a crossover with the other show.

Speaking with Gay Times, Omar Rudberg, who plays Simon in Young Royals, said that it would be “f*cking iconic” and “amazing” to do a crossover with Heartstopper and its two main characters.

“They are much alike in various aspects, but there are also two very different kinds of stories,” Edvin Ryding, who plays Prince Wilhelm, added.

“If Nick and Charlie traveled to Stockholm…” Ryding said, “Maybe this is like season eight of Young Royals and Simon is a successful singer and the biggest one in Sweden. Charlie’s a big fan, so he takes Nick to Stockholm to see Simon sing. You see where I’m going here?”

Both shows are currently awaiting their second seasons, so this crossover may be a ways off.

Heartstopper season 2 has officially begun filming, adding some new cast members and going all the way to Paris to film some scenes between Nick and Charlie.

While Heartstopper is filming its second season, the second season of Young Royals is about to premiere on Netflix November 1. Rudberg told Gay Times that he “screamed with happiness” when he read the season 2 scripts.

You can watch both shows on Netflix.
