Real Housewives is getting even gayer.

As a part of the completely revamped lineup of Real Housewives of New York, Bravo announced that out former J.Crew President Jenna Lyons will be a part of the cast for the new season of the show.

The announcement came at BravoCon, where the all-new cast was revealed as a part of a taping of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

RHONY had been placed on pause after its 13th season in 2021, and now, the show is back, but with none of the classic former stars. Cohen said that some of those former stars would be part of a new “legacy” spinoff show that has not been announced yet.

Lyons served as the creative director and president for J.Crew from 2008 and 2010 respectively, until she left the company in 2017. Lyons was formerly married to artist Vincent Mazeau, with whom she had a son, Beckett. The couple divorced in 2011, and in 2012, Lyons publicly acknowledged that she was in a relationship with a woman, Courtney Crangi. The two split up in 2017.

In a statement, Anthony Allen Ramos, Vice President of Communications & Talent for GLAAD, praised the casting.

“Bravo has a long history of casting interesting, entertaining, and dynamic LGBTQ people in their highly popular programming and it’s exciting to see Jenna Lyons, a highly successful woman in business and a member of the LGBTQ community, join the newly rebooted The Real Housewives of New York City which is one of the network’s most beloved series,” he said.

Last year, Julia Lemigova, former model and beauty entrepreneur, and the wife of tennis legend Martina Navratilova, joined the cast of Real Housewives of Miami, becoming the first out full-time housewife in the franchise.

In 2020, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, who had been featured in the Real Housewives of Orange Countycame out as a lesbian. She was with her former husband Sean Burke while she was on the show.

Real Housewives of New York City is set to debut in 2023.
