The discourse has been discoursing about the meaning of “side” within the LGBTQ+ community.

Last week, RuPaul’s Drag Race season 14 finalist Bosco ignited a social media discussion about being a “side” and how a lot of LGBTQ+ people don’t actually like anal sex as much as they claim to enjoy it.

Kerri Colby is the latest celebrity to bring up the topic and self-identify as a “side.”

“I was today years old when I learned that I don’t identify as top or a bottom,” Colby wrote in a tweet. “But as a side.”

The Drag Race star, who is a trans woman, noted in a subsequent tweet that the current definition of the term is being narrowed down exclusively to gay men in certain sources. For instance, Urban Dictionary defines a “side” as a “homosexual male who does not enjoy anal penetration (giving or receiving), but will engage in other forms of same-sex activity.”

Colby tweeted out a screenshot edit swapping out “a homosexual male” for “a person” – which we couldn’t agree more with.

Though most responses to Colby’s tweet appear to have been positive, the reality star apparently got a few not-so-positive replies as well. She wrote back:

“And also don’t come at us for being sides. Keep your desensitized c*cks and loose walls. We are sensationalists. Ty gn!”

Colby really said, “side rights!” and we’re here for it.
