The Drag Race alum was invited to attend the signing of the Respect for Marriage Act.
You better sissy that White House walk!
On Tuesday, December 13, Brita Filter from RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 became the first Ru Girl to be invited to a U.S. presidential event at the White House. She was invited to attend the signing of the Respect for Marriage Act by President Joe Biden.
Brita documented her entire journey to the White House throughout the entire day on Instagram. It all started with her sharing a video at the Moynihan Train Hall at New York Penn Station at 5:31a.m.
“Good morning, I made it to the train station. Here’s to a very long day, but I’m very excited,” Brita said in that first video. “It’s going to be great.”

Brita then shared a picture of herself trying to get some sleep during her trip. Alas, she revealed in a subsequent post that she hadn’t been able to get any rest. The Drag Race alum explained upon arriving at the hotel in Washington, DC:
“I haven’t slept yet since yesterday. I haven’t slept at all. I tried sleeping on the train here, but I’m kind of excited, and kind of emotional. And probably will be even more emotional later. It’s just so special to be here.”

The queen then shared posts when she was all ready to attend the event. As seen below, Brita looked absolutely stunning to attend this historic signing at the White House.
Once admitted into the event, Brita linked up with fellow drag artist Marti G. Cummings and captured the moment. Cummings shared a picture with Brita via their social media profile as well.

It is extremely exciting to see these two drag artists who have fought so fiercely for marriage equality being welcomed into the White House for the signing of the Respect for Marriage Act. Love wins!
