Colman Domingo is ready to take on a mad world in his new Netflix series.

The actor, who won an Emmy for his role in EuphoriaEuphoria, is set to star in the new limited series The Madness, from creator Stephen Belber (The Laramie Project).

The Madness will star Domingo as Muncie Daniels, a media pundit who stumbles upon a murder scene deep in the Poconos. As a conspiracy unravels, Daniels tries to reconnect to his estranged family and figure out what he truly believes in.

The Madness is a fresh take on the conspiracy thriller — turning the genre on its head with its multi-layered characters, propulsive action and swift pace,” Peter Friedlander, the vice president of scripted series for Netflix in the United States and Canada, said. “We are proud to have such a powerhouse team assembled to bring this dynamic story to life for Netflix viewers around the world, and to continue producing great entertainment with team Chernin.”

Domingo has recently wrapped filming two big projects. Also for Netflix, he filmed Rustin, a biopic about gay civil rights leader Bayard Rustin, where he plays the title role. The film, directed by George C. Wolfe and written by Julian Breece and Dustin Lance Black, also stars Chris Rock, Glynn Turman, Audra McDonald, and Aml Ameen.

He’s also recently wrapped filming on Warner Bros.’ new movie adaptation of The Color Purple Broadway musical. In that movie, Domingo will star alongside Fantasia, Taraji P. Henson, Corey Hawkins, Danielle Brooks, H.E.R., Ciara, Halle Bailey, Louis Gossett Jr., David Alan Grier, and Aunjanue Ellis.
