The 34 annual GLAAD Media Awards took place in Los Angeles on Thursday night, announcing half of the winners for the award show that celebrates the best in queer media.
The GLAAD Awards always pick some of the best queer shows and movies, and this year is no different. With a lot of major queer-themed films, including Oscar winners like The Whale and Everything, Everywhere All At Once, Billy Eichner’s rom-com Bros took home the award for Outstanding Film - Wide Release.

The other films awarded were Framing Agnes, which won Outstanding Documentary, and The Inspection, starring Jeremy Pope, which won Outstanding Film - Limited Release.
It was also an outstanding year for television, with shows like Our Flag Means Death, Hacks, Chucky, and Heartstopper, but ultimately, it was What We Do In The Shadows and 9-1-1: Lone Star that took home Outstanding Comedy and Drama series. The White Lotus won the award for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and A League of Their Own won Outstanding New TV Series.

Fletcher received the award for Outstanding Music Artist for her album Girl of My Dreams, her debut. Other nominees included Anitta, Betty Who, Demi Lovato, Hayley Kiyoko, Honey Dijon, Kim Petras, Muna, Orville Peck, and Rina Sawayama.
Other winners included Los Espookys in the Outstanding Spanish-Language Scripted Television Series category, Out's sister publication The Advocate in Outstanding Magazine Overall Coverage, and Special Recognition awards for Drag Story Hour, Jerrod Carmichael’s Rothaniel, and The Lesbian Bar Project, among others.
There were also several special awards given out at the ceremony. Christina Aguilera received the Advocate for Change award, introduced by Club Q shooting survivor Michael Anderson. Bad Bunny received the Vanguard Award presented by Ricky Martin, and Jeremy Pope received the Stephen F. Kolzak Award presented by Gabrielle Union.
The GLAAD Awards were hosted by comedian and actor Margaret Cho and featured performances by Orville Peck and GLAAD Media Award winner Fletcher. Other celebrities who made appearances included Angelica Ross, Betty Who, Billy Eichner, Brian Michael Smith, Brook Eden, Chase Joynt, Geena Rocero, Harvey Guillen, Isis King, Jen Richards, Joel Kim Booster, Jordy, Rafael Silva, Ronen Rubinstein, Sarah Michelle Geller, TS Madison, Zackary Drucker, and GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis.
