A toy company will be introducing what might be the first ever transgender doll, modeled after teenage trans-rights advocate and reality-TV star.
Tonner Doll Company announced Friday that they would be unveiling a doll based of Jazz Jennings, the 18-year-old transgender star of TLC's I Am Jazz, at the 2017 New York International Toyfair.
"Jazz stands for everything I respect from a human nature point-of-view," said CEO Robert Tonner, who designed the doll. "She's incredibly brave, intelligent, warm-hearted, and creative."

The doll will be available in July, and Jennings hopes "it can place transgender people in a positive light by showing that we are just like all other people," according to an Instagram post.
