These royal servicemen are servicing each other.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story has finally introduced into the popular media franchise two explicitly gay characters who actually have a lot of screen time and their own storylines to be explored.

Though we had gotten some blink-and-you-miss-it representation of gay men on the flagship Bridgerton series, the Queen Charlotte prequel series features two more fully-realized characters: Brimsley, the Queen’s secretary (played by Sam Clemmett), and Reynolds, the King’s secretary (played by Freddie Dennis).

Not only are these characters gay, but they have recurring storylines in the series and are known for sneaking out to have sex whenever they can.

Prior to appearing on Queen Charlotte, Clemmett was best known for appearing in films and TV shows like Cherry, The War Below, and Endeavour. In turn, Dennis’ only acting credit prior to this show was The Nevers on HBO.

With a third season of Bridgerton currently in production, fans are looking forward to even more LGBTQ+ representation on the hit Netflix series. The show has always been very inclusive, so there’s hope that more queer characters will be featured on it in subsequent seasons.

In the meantime, we’ll be stanning Brimsley and Reynolds on Queen Charlotte!

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is now streaming on Netflix.
