Willam isn't entertaining a 'Drag Race' comeback.
“@Gladysthebitch i dont foresee myself on @RuPaulsDragRace All Stars. im on another tv show right now which pays the queens what they’re actually worth for helping make great television @hulu #DragMeToDinner now streaming and if you’re stuck on me being on something starry, Try A Star is Born✨”— Gladys Sharp (@Gladys Sharp) 1685637678
Your tone seems very pointed right now.
Willam has once again dismissed any notion that she’d come back to compete on a future season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars. This time, the season four legend compared All Stars to the latest drag series from Hulu produced by Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, Drag Me to Dinner.
On Thursday, June 1, a fan asked Willam when she would be on All Stars. The queen replied:
“I don’t foresee myself on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars. I’m on another TV show right now which pays the queens what they’re actually worth for helping make great television: Hulu’s Drag Me to Dinner, now streaming. And if you’re stuck on me being on something starry, try A Star is Born.”
“@american_lex @Gladysthebitch @RuPaulsDragRace i would have to do 10 episodes of drag race as a contestant to make what i did on 1 episode of DMTD if we are talking what the girls get for regular competition not all stars 💅”— Gladys Sharp (@Gladys Sharp) 1685637678
Harris and Burtka consider Willam to be their drag mother. The three of them were seen connecting in the HBO documentary Wig, which was about putting together the 2018 edition of the famed New York City drag festival Wigstock.
Otherwise, Willam’s latest jab at the Drag Race franchise comes on the heels of season 11 winner Yvie Oddly calling out the show’s producers.
Another fan asked in a follow-up tweet how much was the difference in payment for Willam to appear on Drag Me to Dinner in comparison to Drag Race. Not one to mince words, Willam promptly responded to the question:
“I would have to do 10 episodes of Drag Race as a contestant to make what I did on one episode of Drag Me to Dinner if we are talking what the girls get for regular competition, not All Stars.”
Though Willam’s anti-All Stars stance feels very clear at the moment, one can never know if she would change her mind over the years. We can’t wait to see how this turns out!
Drag Me to Dinner is now streaming on Hulu. RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 8 airs Fridays on Paramount+.
