It’s time for the girls to get grafting.

Following the success of I Kissed a Boy, the UK’s first-ever all-gay dating series, the BBC has now announced a female spinoff titled I Kissed a Girl.

Dannii Minogue is set to return as a host for the series, which will follow 10 single women being matched amongst themselves and attempting to find true love. Much like the original show, the first kiss between each pair will determine the experience they’ll have as a couple. An official synopsis for the show reads:

I Kissed a Girl will serve drama, smash stereotypes, and promise more twists and turns than ever.”

Minogue wrote in a statement:

“After showing love truly is for everyone with I Kissed A Boy, I am thrilled to have the chance to be Cupid for girls in the second series. I’m so excited to see if we can find more connections, chemistry, and hopefully love sealed with a kiss. Here come the girls.”

Applications are now open for single women to shoot their shot and potentially get cast on I Kissed a Girl. With such few dating shows for LGBTQ+ people, one can be certain that a flood of applicants will be submitting their tapes for this new show.

This exciting news comes on the heels of Netflix releasing an all-queer season of The Ultimatum, which means that dating shows are starting to catch up by featuring LGBTQ+ cast members. We are already looking forward to I Kissed a Girl!

I Kissed a Girl is coming soon to BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.
