First Teaser for Part II of Netflix Series 'The Get Down' Has Arrived

Since The Get Down arrived this past August, we've been craving news of the second season for Baz Luhrmann and Stephen Adly Guirgis' hip-hop Bronx masterpiece. At last, our prayers have been answered: the first teaser for the show's second installment is finally here.

With the clip comes another bit of good news: the show's season two premiere date will be April 7 on Netflix. Part II is set in 1978, a year after the end of the first season. Netflix said in a statement that the new iteration will see main characters “Amidst the backdrop of a bankrupt New York City, ruthless gangsters and money-hungry record label bosses, they discover it’s only their creativity and love that will carry them through—and that they’ll sacrifice everything for their music, and each other."
