Bill & Frank – ‘The Last of Us’
The entire world fell in love with Bill (Nick Offerman) and Frank (Murray Bartlett) as their love story was explored in the first season of The Last of Us. Tom & Patrick – ‘My Policeman’
Tom (Harry Styles) and Patrick (David Dawson) really went all out in this scene from 2022’s My Policeman. Y’know, just two lovers making out and having sex on a couch.
Wilhelm & Simon – ‘Young Royals’
One of the cutest and most romantic gay kissing scenes ever took place on Young Royals. This scene obviously featured the lead couple of the series, Wilhelm (Edvin Ryding) and Simon (Omar Rudberg).
Ennis & Jack – ‘Brokeback Mountain’
We’re always going to feel nostalgic about the love story between Ennis (Heath Ledger) and Jack (Jake Gyllenhaal) in 2005’s Brokeback Mountain. In this scene, we finally see the two cowboys succumbing to the deep feelings they have for each other.
Cal & Derek – ‘Euphoria’
One of the most shocking twists in Euphoria history took place in a flashback scene involving a young Cal Jacobs (Elias Kacavas) and his high school BFF Derek (Henry Eikenberry) falling in love and eventually kissing each other.
Marc & Kay – ‘Free Fall’
2013’s Free Fall is a story about two closeted cops falling in love with each other. Despite fighting it as hard as they can, feelings all come to surface in this scene between Marc (Hanno Koffler) and Kay (Max Riemelt).
Clive & Maurice – ‘Maurice’
1987’s Maurice featured a very subtle and tentative – but still iconic – gay kiss between Clive (Hugh Grant) and Maurice (James Wilby) during a time when queer romance wasn’t at all something we expected to see on the big screen.
Lito & Hernando – ‘Sense8’
Even so many years later, plenty of fans are still angry at Netflix for canceling Sense8 too soon. One of the crown jewels of the series was the relationship between Lito (Miguel Ángel Silvestre) and Hernando (Alfonso Herrera), and their skinny-dipping kissing scene at the beach was one of the highlights of that relationship.
Simon & Bram – ‘Love, Simon’
How can anyone ever forget the Ferris wheel scene in 2018’s Love, Simon that had Simon (Nick Robinson) finally kissing his longtime pen pal Bram (Keiynan Lonsdale)? A legendary moment for mainstream LGBTQ+ movies.
Gabriel & Leonardo – ‘The Way He Looks’
Another example of a complicated queer romance took place between Gabriel (Fabio Audi) and Leonardo (Ghilherme Lobo) in 2014’s The Way He Looks. In this scene, it is finally revealed that they both like each other, which culminates in a very sweet kiss.
Noah & Will – ‘Fire Island’
Noah (Joel Kim Booster) really wanted to be an independent gay guy just having fun in 2022’s Fire Island, but he didn’t foresee falling in love with Will (Conrad Ricamora) while trying to party it up. As soon as these two characters kissed under the rain, we knew this scene would enter the LGBTQ+ history books.
Chiron & Kevin – ‘Moonlight’
The world stood still as Chiron (Ashton Sanders) had his very first kiss in 2016’s Moonlight. Unfortunately, Kevin (Jharrel Jerome) didn’t turn out to be a great guy in the immediate aftermath of their kiss… but this is still a moment that we’ll never forget.
Bobby & Aaron – ‘Bros’
The most iconic kissing scene from 2022’s Bros took place right after a silly and endearing fight between Bobby (Billy Eichner) and Aaron (Luke Macfarlane) lying on a blanket at a park. Though he fought back his own feelings, Bobby did feel jealous about Aaron, leading them to start making out right there and then.
Gheorghe & Johnny – ‘God’s Own Country’
Gheorghe (Alec Secăreanu) and Johnny (Josh O’Connor) were another rather complicated couple in 2017’s God’s Own Country, but their tender moments and kissing scenes had us at the edge of our seats.
