For better or worse, HBO's newest drama series The Idol has been causing quite the stir online.

From Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and The Weeknd (who plays one of the series leads), The Idol tells the story of up-and-coming singer named Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) who, on the quest to become the world's biggest, sexiest name in pop music, falls victim to the wiles of a self-help grifter and cult leader named Tedros (The Weeknd). The show features a ton of A-List LGBTQ+ talent like actress and model Hari Nef, Schitt's Creek's Dan Levy, and gay pop icon Troye Sivan.

Out got the chance to speak to Sivan, who plays Xander in the series, and talk about how he got involved with The Idol, the future of his acting and music career, who he's listening to right now, and his now infamous "nasty, nasty, bad pop girl" line from the first teaser trailer.

Watch the full interview Troye Sivan in the video below.

The Idol is now streaming on Max.
