Many of us remember our first Pride as one of the most exciting times of our lives, and now, Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp is sharing his.
Shnapp has shared some photos of him enjoying his first Pride in New York City since coming out, and the pictures are radiating pure queer joy!
In the photos (posted to his Instagram account), Schnapp and his friends dance in a fountain, surrounded by other LGBTQ+ people, hang out in a hotel room, and swim in a pool. Schnapp is wearing a black tanktop with a rainbow design that says “Straight Outta The Closet” and a rainbow headband and wristbands.
Schnapp came out in January when he shared a TikTok video with the popular “You know what it never was? That serious” audio tag.
Schnapp wrote on his video, “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘we know.’”
Last year Schnapp also got to explore a coming-out journey through his character Will Byers on the uber-popular Netflix show Stranger Things. In the fourth season, Will is struggling with his best friend Mike growing up and getting more interested in girls (including Eleven).
Will clearly has a crush on him and has some emotional scenes around his closeted feelings, including one where his older brother tells him that he’ll always love him, no matter who he is or what he does.
While Will is still in the closet in the 1980’s universe of Stranger Things, Schnapp is getting to be his out and proud self at New York Pride, and we love that for him!
