The SAG-AFTRA strike of 2023 is now official!
On Friday, July 14, the Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) officially joined the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike seeking better treatment and fairer compensation from Hollywood studios and executives.
The SAG-AFTRA labor union includes more than 160,000 working actors, not just A-list celebrities. The guidelines for this current strike prohibit actors from acting, singing, dancing, performing stunts, puppeteering, doing motion-capture work, and doing any kind of promotion or publicity for projects in the press, festivals, award shows, junkets, podcasts, or social media.
Now, actors are reacting to the news that the SAG-AFTRA union has officially joined the WGA and are also going on strike.
