The saga of the former Bachelorette contestant Josh Seiter’s death hoax continues. Seiter has spoken again, this time revealing that he has decided to seek support at a mental health facility.

The move comes after the distressing incident in August of this year where false reports of his death circulated. Seiter maintains that his Instagram account was hacked, but that he has taken the step to prioritize his well-being due to relentless harassment he has endured from numerous individuals.

Seiter shared a new statement on his Instagram account, saying, "For the last month I've received hundreds of hateful messages and unending harassment related to my aaccount being hacked. I wish i was stronger but I can't take any more and am logging off of social media for good and am checking myself into a wellness facility now to try to get some kind of a handle on my mental health. I am losing my phone in the next hour. I love you all. To the people sending me death threats, you win."

Seiter also recently offered an explanation for his delay in confirming his well-being after the reported hoax, telling TMZ, “I was locked out of my account for about 18 hours… as soon as I was, I was able to get in… take back control of the account.”

He also noted that he spent more time on conversations with close family members and regaining control of his account instead of prioritizing letting the world know he wasn’t actually dead.

“I’m not a celebrity,” he said. “I’m not famous. I don’t have a team that puts out statements.”

He concluded with, “I’m sorry. I’m not perfect. I guess I could have done something besides getting on Instagram to prove that I was alive. I haven’t had experience with this. I did the best I could. I’m sorry to everyone that was hurt by this person. I’m a victim.”
