Trans icon Candis Cayne is coming to The Advocate Channel!

Cayne, known for her beauty, grace, talent, and skill is a true legend in the LGBTQ+ community. After becoming a drag queen, winning the Miss Continental pageant in 2001, and starring in TV shows like Dirty Sexy Money and The Magicians, Cayne is now coming to The Advocate Channel, where she’ll host her own DIY gardening/comedy show Candis Cayne’s Secret Garden.

The “literally groundbreaking” show follows Glam Goddess Candis Cayne as she “invites you into her ‘secret garden’ where she and her magical friends show you the best way to transform your space into an enchanted garden of your very own, And remember, Good things happen when you get a little dirty!”

In Candis Cayne’s Secret Garden, Cayne “and her magical friends will reveal the best ways to transform any space into an enchanted garden of their very own,” a press release says. “The show promises to be a whimsical and visually stunning experience, combining the gardening expertise of Candis Cayne with a playful and imaginative world. Each episode of Candis Cayne's Secret Garden will feature creative DIY gardening projects, enchanting set designs, and a colorful cast of characters (including Bruce Vilanch in the pilot!, all designed to inspire viewers to explore their gardening aspirations.”

At the recent Out100 Awards in Los Angeles, Cayne discussed why she felt now is the perfect time for a show like this.

“With transphobia front and center, all you have to do is turn on the news to get a glimpse of the horrors our community has been facing. It reminds us that it’s more important than ever to live our most authentic, beautiful, multi-faceted, messy, joyous lives,” she said. “That’s why I created my show. It’s sort of a Peewee’s Playhouse meets Martha Stewart’s Garden—it’s full of camp and glamour, kindness and cocktails, and just a dash of shade.”

The show is a result of a partnership between Spotlight Productions (SpoPro) and equalpride, and the show will air across equalpride’s platforms including Out, The Advocate, Pride.com, and 24-hour streaming service The Advocate Channel. It will premiere on November 23.
