Here's When 12 of Your Favorite Queer Shows Are Coming Back

Get ready for some great queer TV!


Now that both the Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild strikes are both officially over, we’re going to start seeing some of our favorite shows coming back to TV. Just how soon they’ll come back is up for some debate, though

Networks and streamers are starting to announce premiere dates for the upcoming year, with some even putting out teasers for shows that won’t premiere for another 12 months after that.

Here's some information on when some of our favorite queer shows will be returning to our screens!

True Detective: Night Country - January 14


The new season of Max’s True Detective stars Jodie Foster as Liz Danvers, a cop in Alaska reteaming with her old partner Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) to investigate a new series of murders.

Abbott Elementary - February 7


Class at our favorite public school comes back into session this February in a new, shortened season on ABC. The show will see the return of Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Wiliams, Janelle James, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Chris Perfetti as the school’s gay teacher, Jacob Hill.

Ghosts - February 15


Ghosts, which features an ensemble of ghosts from different time periods, including a gay Revolutionary War officer played by Brandon Scott Jones, will return to CBS for its third season this February.

Hacks - 2024


Hacks has one of the queerest casts on TV, and it’s one of the funniest shows we’ve ever seen. The comedy about an aging comedian and the young, queer people who help her run her life returns for a third season in 2024 on Max.

House of the Dragon - 2024


This Game of Thrones prequel starring Emma D’Arcy will return for an epic second season on Max sometime in 2024.

Interview With the Vampire - 2024


The sexy-as-sin vampires of Interview With the Vampire return to AMC+ in 2024 for a second season following Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) as he continues to live his immortal life as a vampire.

Sex Lives of College Girls - 2024


Mindy Kaling’s Sex Lives of College Girls is returning for a third season on Max in 2024, but, our favorite character Leighton (Reneé Rapp) will only be a recurring character this season before leaving the show.

Somebody Somewhere - 2024


This Max show about queer people making life in Manhattan, Kansas returns for a third season in 2024. Bridget Everett, Jeff Hiller, and Murray Hill star.

And Just Like That... - 2025


The spin-off of Sex and the City is coming back for a third season to Max, but not until 2025. Due to the strikes, the season has been pushed back a year.

Euphoria - 2025


Sam Levinson’s teen drama will return for a third season at HBO and Max, and it will also be returning after a delay, coming out in 2025.

The Last of Us - 2025


This Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey-starring video game adaptation will return for a much anticipated second season on Max in 2025. The creators of the show have said that they plan on adapting The Last of Us II video game story.

The White Lotus - 2025


The White Lotus will return for a third season at a new White Lotus resort location and with a new cast. Again, we’ll have to wait an extra year until 2025 to see this show come back to Max. Season one took place in Hawaii, season two in Italy, and season 3 will film in Thailand.
