Supergroup boygenius officially won its first trophies at the 66th Grammy Awards.
Boygenius — made up of queer artists Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus — won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Album, Best Rock Song, and Best Rock Performance, officially making the band Grammy winners!
Boygenius picked up the Grammys for Rock Song and Rock Performance for their song “Not Strong Enough,” and Best Alternative Music Album for The Record, beating out rock legends like the Foo Fighters, Metallica, and Rolling Stones, as well as other powerhouses like Black Pumas, Arctic Monkeys, Olivia Rodrigo, and Queens of the Stone Age.
Bridgers was previously nominated for four Grammys, including Best New Artist, as a solo artist in 2021, when she released the album Punisher. She also won a Grammy tonight for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Ghost in the Machine” with SZA.

In total, boygenius is up for six awards tonight, including Record of the Year for “Not Strong Enough” and Album of the Year for The Record.
While the Grammy win is great news, not everything is happy in the world of boygenius. Several outlets are reporting that at a secret acoustic gig in Los Angeles on February 1, the band announced a hiatus by saying that they are “going away for the foreseeable future.”
Another source reported that Dacus said “this is our last show, and we’re feeling it,” at the concert.
At least if this is the end (for now), the band is going out on top with some Grammy wins.
