Kudos for saying that, Plane Jane.
Plane Jane has been a divisive figure on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16. Nonetheless, fans can’t help but laugh at some of the hilarious things that she ends up saying on the show.
During episode 11, titled “Corporate Queens,” Q opened up about being a person living with HIV and talked about her personal journey. She ultimately opened up to the judges while on the main stage, and also talked to all her costars in Untucked… but the first conversation about this topic came up between Q and Plane while they got read in the werk room.
After Q opened up her heart and shared this very personal story, Plane responded with: “Mama, kudos for saying that. For spilling.”
To be clear, Plane was not dismissive toward Q, nor was she making light of the story. The response did feel earnest, like it was everything that she could say while still applying makeup and getting ready for the runway. Nonetheless, the yassified tone of this response to such a deeply personal story came across as funny — as if we had just pressed on a button for an AI-generated drag queen bot to react to a story — and fans are now having a freaking blast creating memes with the quote.
Everywhere you look, Plane’s quote is being applied to memes, thirst traps, and scenes from movies and TV shows.
