TV and film are full of straight characters, but many of them had the potential to be much gayer than how they were depicted – if only the writers took the chance. When heteronormativity reigns, many characters in some of our favorite shows and movies are given romances of the opposite gender that... don't quite fit.
Well, the internet is out to correct that.
On Wednesday, X (formerly known as Twitter) account @TheCinesthetic gave the prompt, "show me characters the writers forced into a heterosexual relationship."
Social media users quickly took the idea and ran, sharing queer relationships from Glee, Harry Potter, Shamless, Pitch Perfect, High School Musical, Euphoria, Scooby Doo, and even Pulp Fiction that made much more sense than the romances they were given.
