Get ready to save the multiverse!

The new big bad in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is played by nonbinary actor Emma Corrin, and they make their triumphant (and bald) debut in the brand new trailer for the upcoming R-rated Marvel Studios comedy Deadpool & Wolverine!

The trailer is full of the classic Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) quips/snark and is sure to make fans of the character happy. It's also got some of the over-the-top Deadpool violence we love, and with two stars who both have powerful healing factors, we can be sure that the fights will get bloody as hell!

It also sets the story for the film, with Deadpool meeting up with a Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) variant in a bar to recruit him for a mission to save the world — and maybe the whole multiverse. It seems like the Wolverine we meet had "let down his entire world," and a TVA agent has recruited Deadpool to team up with him to face off against a new threat, played by Emma Corrin.

So who is Corrin playing in the film? They are playing the super villain and mutant Cassandra Nova. We don't know her exact plans or motivations in the movie, but she seems to have a thing against the X-Men and her actions will affect the entire multiverse.

In classic comic book nonsense, Cassandra Nova was the twin sister of Charles Xavier, founder of the X-Men, and in the womb, he used his psychic powers to see that she was evil, and he choked her fetus, causing her to be stillborn.

However, as she is a powerful psychic as well, she was able to form a new body for herself, and now has telekinetic, telepathic, mind control, and other psychic powers. We see her use some of them in the preview, having no trouble at all taking down Wolverine in a fight.

She also has apparently built her base in the empty skull of Ant-Man in his giant mode (which is badass as hell) and has assembled a lineup of X-Men villains from previous movies to fight for her.

Corrin is a terrific actor and has been nominated for an Emmy and won a Golden Globe for playing Princess Diana in the fourth season of The Crown. We can't wait to see this new, badass turn for them!

They came out as nonbinary in 2021, when they updated their pronouns and showed off that they like to bind on Instagram.

Deadpool & Wolverine will be in theaters July 26.
