A baby boy!

Between playing in the National Football League (NFL), appearing on The Bachelorette and then leading his own season of The Bachelor, and hosting the new Daddyhood podcast, Colton Underwood and his husband Jordan C. Brown just announced that they have a baby on the way.

The reality TV star and podcast wrote in a statement:

"This entire journey has been a rollercoaster of emotions — humbling, exciting, and truly eye-opening. I couldn't be more thrilled to welcome our baby boy and really get to embrace 'Daddyhood' in a whole new way. Jordan and I are looking forward to all the little moments, like holding, feeding, and changing him. But above all, we're most excited to show him just how loved he already is."

During an interview with Men's Health, Underwood discussed the realities of infertility in men — a topic that continues to be taboo in society. "I wish somebody had educated me about my sperm and my body," he explained, "and the decisions that I made and how [they] would impact me."

Underwood explained that he spent six months in "sperm rehab" taking hormones, working out regularly, and staying far away from hot tubs and saunas. When that time period came to an end, he reportedly increased his sperm count and felt ready to start in vitro fertilization (IVF).

The next step was picking an egg donor. After getting profiles of egg donors, Underwood said:

"We want somebody deep and cool. I believe in nature versus nurture. So give us the basics and we can show this kid love."

On the day of the embryo transfer, the Brown-Underwood family chose to celebrate in their own way. Instead of being in a medical clinic to celebrate, they opted for a more intimate setting between them. Underwood explained, "We just thought that, as the transfer is happening, it's really important that we feel a part of it somehow, because we're building our family in love.”

Underwood and Brown spent over a year planning and hoping for children. Needless to say, they're happy and relieved that this dream is finally coming true.

We can't wait to keep up with Underwood's official "daddy" era!
