From oui oui to La-La Land!

As of Sunday, August 11, the Paris 2024 Olympics are officially over! The event's closing ceremony featured an action-packed handover segment for the next 2028 Summer Olympic Games taking place in Los Angeles.

The handover segment starts with Tom Cruise pulling all kinds of Mission: Impossible-coded stunts to retrieve the Olympic Games flag. He then mounts a bike and takes the flag all the way to Los Angeles… and once we find ourselves in Californian sole, we experience Red Hot Chili Peppers performing their hit song "Can't Stop."

Next up is queer pop star Billie Eilish — and we have to admit that we were the most excited for her performance. While some fans fantasized on social media that Eilish would perform "Lunch" or the "Guess" remix with Charli XCX, the Grammy Award-winning singer sang "Birds of a Feather" from her latest album, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

Eilish was followed by a solo performance from Snoop Dogg, who was subsequently joined by Dr. Dre. For context, all of these performances from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre were pre-taped and filmed on Rosie's Dog Beach in Long Beach.

Paris 2024 was one of the most exciting Olympic Games in recent history, and fans are feeling VERY excited about the upcoming Los Angeles 2028 Olympics!
