TelevisionChris ThomasFilmmaker Ryan Murphy has grabbed headlines once again and, this time, it’s not because he subjected us to Colton Haynes and Billy Eichner fornicating. Instead, it's because he’s made TV history for his upcoming FX drama Pose, having assembled the largest cast of transgender actors in series regular roles ever for a scripted show.

The trans actors include MJ Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Hailie Sahar, and Angelica Ross, and all five will play trans characters on the show. The drama is set in '80s New York and will focus partly on ballroom culture. Besides giving us life with a Paris is Burning-worthy homage to the ball scene, Pose will also focus on the rise of Trump-era luxury and the downtown social scene.
While we wait for more information on this, let’s all give a heavy serving of praise to groundbreaking, trans-centric shows like Transparent that paved the way for Murphy’s historic cast to now strike a pose.
